You know darned well we'd all watch 20 minutes of Safiya talking about peach water
I would lol
Heck yes
we all would no joke.
yep
she’s so well spoken and creative that she could literally make anything entertaining😂
I love the hurt in Safiya’s voice when the vending machine didn’t have her tea 😂
i have watched this video like 19 times and it never gets boring
I come back to this video so often lol 😂
same!!
@sleepy devil ikr!!
safiya’s videos are insanely rewatchable
Literally
Would love this so much. I’m such an introvert, and love the privacy and enclosed and cozy space. Why don’t they have these everywhere?!?
Ohh we have 2 box hotels near by and one got a lawsuit because the lack of windows and fresh air is against regulations and counts as a health risk.
As is, they were only allowed to exist if they limit the stay duration to 3 consecutive days.
That's why they aren't as prevalent in some countries
Because the west is backwards
Huge agree, I way prefer hostels that have pods like this, over ones with bunk beds where you end up feeling compelled to talk to strangers.
They do! But only in hostels
Because the rest of the world is not yet ready for the magic Japan holds
Imagine supplying these to the homeless in every city!
This comment got 1.2K likes and one troll. I looked back to see if I should delete the original comment and it was this!
@Maddie B. you obviously haven't. Do you really have nothing better to do than look up year old comments and be nasty to someone because they see things differently than you do? It makes me feel sorry for you.
Giving someone "stuff for free" even when it hurts people is not my definition of kindness. If you think that makes me a "horrible" person then it sounds like you just don't understand definitions of words. I don't think grandma from down the street deserves to be taxed out of her home to fund the gambling addiction of some homeless guy who clearly needs real help instead of more "free stuff" that they may be selling to feed their addiction or mental illness. Most of the people who are homeless aren't just "down on their luck people" who are normally responsible. If you think you are being "kind" by taking from one person to give to another who likely won't even benefit as much from it, then you are missing half of the equation and that sounds like a "you" problem.
@Crystal H have you become any less horrible over the past year?
Lol most nice shit in Japan is only able to exist because of the sheer amount od respect, cleanliness, etc the Japanese have.
Would work for homeless people in Japan maybe, maybe some places like Singapore too, but in any other country that would turn to shit REAL fast.
Putting a bunch of people likely to be mentally ill and/or have drug addictions in literal coffins for an indefinite amount of time together, with a large amount of those claustrophobic pods per room, is asking for trouble even if you had security/cops actively patrolling the place, and it absolutely wouldn't be clean either...
This is a fantastic idea! Even having the price shown in the video would be great, and help so many people!
@person doin it's thing Honestly, it isn't. When you donate to charity it is because you have the option. When you can barely afford to feed your own kids and then you are "forced to donate" via taxation, you are forced to take resources you would have spent on your own family so they can fund other things. While it is noble to VOLUNTARILY donate when you have the extra money to do so, then that isn't the same thing as taxation where people can't exactly just "opt out" if they are hit with their own medical bills or emergency expenses, nor can you save for such events when you are being told that the government knows how to spend your money better than you do. Based on what I have seen recently, I fervently disagree.
Secondly, giving free things away isn't always "being kind." If someone had an addiction and you are enabling them by giving them things for free so they can spend their money on less healthy things, you aren't actually helping them. You can tell yourself it makes you a good person all you want, but it doesn't necessarily make it so. The better thing to do would be to help them improve themselves so they can make money and provide for themselves because then they also get a sense of pride and self worth, which is not what you give them when you issue a handout. Some of those people are mentally ill as well and they need real help, not just a freebie right now, and that was the point I was making against the original comment. Freebies are all well and good for today but what about tomorrow or next week after you have patted yourself on the back and have moved on to think about other things? Those people will still be there in the same position.
Let's be real, nobody wants to see people suffer. I just don't think things like "welfare" are the way to do it because too many people don't even see the faces of the people helping them. They believe it is some faceless government entity, so they have no issue feeling entitled to continue to ask for "more free stuff" because they don't stop to think about who is paying for it. It isn't just rich people, who often can afford tax people and attorneys. It isn't the poor either, because those people take out more than they put in. Mostly it is the working class who suffers. I don't think it is selfish of me to say that my preference is to keep more of my own money to spend as I see fit and for others like me to have the opportunity to do the same instead of feeling saddled with debt for their entire lives, some of that debt not even being their own. That doesn't mean I would be opposed to giving charity, but I would be more selective about the types of charity I would donate to and that would keep people more accountable for how such money is spent. "Government money" doesn't seem to belong to anyone individually, so the "government" might spend $60 on a toilet seat. A responsible person would opt for one for less than $20 that would be the same quality. Personally, I find it insulting that anyone would say that anyone would spend MY money better than me. I earned it, so it should be my say on where it goes. Wasn't the point that we wouldn't have taxation without representation in this country? I certainly didn't vote for the welfare state and I think it has been bad for this country.
Personally, I don't think it should have ever been up for a vote to begin with because some things should be sacred. If you don't believe people should own their own labor, then you aren't far off from being okay with slavery. Also, if it is okay to do with money, then what is to stop the government from redistributing sex or anything else? If more than 50% of the men in the room want to get that from you, does it then make it okay if they "vote on it"? This is why pure democracy isn't always good and your body and things like your labor should never be up for a vote. I just think it is a huge moral issue and you can kind of think of it like robbing a bank to donate to a church. Was the end result helpful? Maybe, but you still robbed a bank and taxation of people who don't agree with your cause is still wrong.
as a young female traveler, i wish these were more common! i feel SUPER unsafe in a lot of hostels and, in some areas, traditional hotels are SUPER expensive. a cheap yet semi-secluded option would be amazing!
Hostels make me so anxious 😓
Who else is just looking through all of the replies and enjoying seeing people arguing with nobody there 😂
why did read this comment section, humans are stupid that's what I understood.😅
@mr rubisco because young women are prone to danger?
these are even less safe
Personally I thought Saf's delirious vlogging was cute. I would totally watch the unedited vending machine/peach water review. lol
Okay i started watching her again after a while of stopping and can we just talk about the fact that this woman doesn't age
She found the fountain of youth 😭
Other people in the foot bath: **trying to relax**
Tyler and Safia: Talking very loudly into a camera right next to them
Other people in the foot bath: 👁 👄 👁
NEVER apologize for, especially your, natural body hair!! Anyone offended by something as normal as body hair needs to leave this planet. Just sayin'
#TylerWilliams
@Haystack I love that you used the word hirsute, that might be the first time I've seen it used organically
@Haystack I'm so sorry that mental image made me wheeze
We're mammals. We bloody well have hair as part of our genetic nature, in whatever amount, or wherever it might show up. I have a roommate who might be mistaken for a werewolf in bad light and at a distance, because he is just that hirsute from head to waist.
Pretty sure he more-so meant that it cut from footage of him falling asleep with a shirt on to footage as he woke up with no shirt so it was jarring... nobody’s being rude, he only said that because the jumpcut was startling
i think wht they meant by "gettig caught off guard" was that we saw him go to sleep with a shirt and then wake up shirtless lmao. no one was shading him over it
saf: aren’t you glad i’m showing you this bathroom?
me internally: surprisingly, yes
When i watch a tour i need to see everything. EVERYTHING.
@Ali have you ever been to a western public bathroom (Canada, england, US) there's gaps between the doors and the stall walls. It's terrible and I hate it.
@Mady Littler why would there be gaps in the doors?
ikr
Totally
This is both Tyler's and Safiya's best video ever. It calms me down in the most curious and satisfying way..........❤
Peach flavored water is actually really yummy! I came across it when my father who was stationed in Japan and our family traveled around Japan a bit and got it from a store. I really liked it because I loved peach.
In Ginza, there is a building where on the seventh floor is a "Vampire Café" (except it is not a café, just a restaurant) and it is utterly awesome to visit as you can only guess that the title shows what the place is but I am not sure that you guys have heard nor seen this place.
Check out the videos of this place on ESclips if you haven't, by the typing "Tokyo Vampire Café".
I think this is something that Safiya would have liked as she is into bats and goth stuff, so if she gets the chance of going back to Japan for another visit - try it.
My claustrophobia is screaming while I’m watching this 😂😂😂
my non existent claustrophobia is screaming at the thought of closing the pod doors
Same!! I was hyperventilating with just the sight of it 🙈
So I honestly used to have HORRIBLE claustrophobia and I forced myself to stay in one of these pods to try and get over it. I was surprised that it was very comforting with the blanket wrapped around me and I felt very safe!
Thought I was the only one 😂😂
Ikr
Imagine if they had these instead of seats on airplanes 😂
That’s kind of what they had in The Fifth Element in the spaceship that takes the characters to the cruise ship.
That’d be awesome
I would use my life savings
the possibilities...
Haha
Immediately after Safi said that the pod was “like a morgue bod” literally the first thought that came into my head was “what if the pods were previously part of a morgue” and then I was like “they seem comfortable either way” XD
Safiya rofling about her Abercrombie & Fitch joke is the purest thing ever
Man, imagine having the freedom to travel to beautiful places again
Idk if you can see how many times a person watches a video but I have to be close to 100. Idk what it is but this video is so relaxing to me, it literally calms me down during an anxiety attack. Love it & Love you guys!
Safiya’s capsule would feel so claustrophobic to me, but the sideways way that Tyler’s capsule was looked extremely comfortable. The pods also looked bigger than I expected. Plus everybody loves the extra freebies.
I feel the same
Exactly I would feel safer with the sideways door than the small square door
I found the opposite really XD
I'm not claustrophobic and the efficient end entry type looked like a really safe space if it locked from the inside. The sideways entry would feel exposed. Moving the locker space inside the pods would make things easier at the same or less total volume per guest.
The mini toothpaste was adorable!
Tyler is happy with everything. Everywhere he goes and everything he eats and I just love that energy 🙌🏼
I keep coming back to this vid idk why...it always gives me a sense of calm haha
also I miss these two-I hope they're doing alright
I watch this video any time I get really anxious or really stressed and it’s so helpful in calming me down. I seriously have watched it at least 15 times
Just saying, if these were in the US and I was in a situation where I could use one......... I’d do it. That looks hecking comfortable and fun
I feel like these pods would be good for backpackers, like you’re travelling through Europe and just stop for a night, or for university students who are staying on campus for the night if they worked late and have a early morning lecture incase they live off campus
Totally
i once slept in my cars trunk between 2 exams on the university parking lot when i already had moved away so yeah capsules had been nice......
@rose it's pricey either way. What the heck
@Jordan Buhl It's way cheaper to rent an apartment, a lot of apartments in Tokyo cost $600- 800 a month.
@Jordan Buhl yea but still you can rent for actual rooms for cheaper
I sometimes stay in these types of hotel when I travel to Japan, specifically Tokyo, alone. There was this one time the hotel I stayed in was near the red-light district in Shinjuku-Ku, and that hotel was definitely not as nice as the one shown in this video albeit being about only 3USD cheaper (yes, 3). We all had to share one small dirty bathroom and two sinks with no one coming to clean it for the 4 days I stayed there. The girl that slept under my bunk bed even went out and got herself shitfaced and puked all over her bed during my second night so I had to sleep with the stench of vomit for the rest of my stay.... so yeah... definitely not all of them are on par with the quality shown here... but pod hotel/hostels are for sure a good option when you are on a budget and you know you won’t be spending lots of time in the hotel.
This sounds so comfy! Only concern I'd have it thr common foot bath. What if someone has foot fungus that is contagious? Warm water would spread those germs like crazy!
I’ve stayed in a capsule hotel. They’re nice. You get a locker, take a shower, and then crawl into your pod. You can buy beer and food out of a vending machine. The pod has A/C and a television and WIFI. So you watch TV and then doze off. They cost $35 a night.
I always wanted to know what a capsule hotel looked like, how it worked. Why oh why can't we have those at USA airports? They would be so great for long layovers.
They should use this idea (or a similar one) in hospitals for families who need to stay with someone.
Yes there is a sleeper sofa/ couch/cot in the room, but I think the original commenter is trying to suggest an additional option not a replacement. I know during my MANY hospitalizations I slept better when my mom left and went home and we got on better when she got a decent night of sleep. But she didn’t want to be far from her sick teenage kid. This is an option that is not cot in the room which sucks really bad for a number of reasons. (Like important option but still blows) or going home/paying for a full hotel.
There’s a sleeper chair in hospital rooms
Yup the thing is that when people are in a hospital its kinda like a depressing place to be in and you already have alot of stress and worries and you even dont have enough place in a small couch soooo
I love this idea actually
that’s actually a very good idea .
I agree
I love how Japanese are properly organized everything and I loved their furniture.
It is so good, i hope this could be in India everywhere.
Listen. I love tiny spaces to sleep in. I dunno why but they make me feel safe. I used to sleep in my closet before the spiders invaded it. So throw me and my 4 cats in there and im taking the best nap of my life. I need one of these for my room. I guess a canopy bed is the closest im gonna get though lmao.
I once slept in my laundry basket when I was like 5 or 6. It was really comfy.
Im the same way. But yet I also enjoy sleeping in a huge bed.
I refused to share a room with siblings as a kid so I litterally made this walk in closet my room and this is what these remind me of
Love: you I. The the bathroom during Sam's late night feverdream vlog
and just here
"Wow look at this bathroom Aren't you happy I'm filming g the bathroom "
assuming they speak english
things like these would only work in Japan not in the US. I feel like people are generally more respectful/clean lol
Edit: I say this as someone who uses a lot of public transportation all over the US. I’m not being “anti American” or whatever you snowflakes want to call me in the comments. I’m just being real.
@Naomi Yokoi also Americans are just a lot bigger than the Japanese on average💀 so pods would have to be a lot larger than the Japanese ones
Omg these would be so dirty in the US
I’m American and I agree
I agree. I have been in a not clean hotels. Very few people would take care or respect people's property.
nah you're right idk why people are mad.... I've seen a lot of American got mad like "it's a public transportation 😡😡 don't tell me to be quiet" when people are expected to stfu in trains in Singapore/Japan lol
I swear I’ve watched this video 20 times. Their videos are so rewatchable 😂
I don’t know why, but every time I struggle to fall asleep I watch this video again, it feels just so relaxing 😌
safiya half asleep at 3am reviewing a random drink from the vending machine has me dead lmao
Ever since this video I wanted to try staying in a capsule hotel and last month I finally got to do that
I went on a trip with my bestie and regular hostels were all booked up, so we got a double capsule together, and then I stayed in the city later than her so I got to stay in a single capsule too. I'll say, singles are Much more convenient, doubles get way too stuffy and ventilation is the same power in either so it does not manage the bigger cabin. The stay in general was VERY convenient tho, I am always wary of staying in hostels because of the Russian roulette you play with the neighbors, so single capsules that are barely above the cheapest hostel price and have NO neighbors? Sign me UP. It also had surprisingly many conveniences - like a kitchen everybody is free to use, or quite a bit of storage space (I was afraid my suitcase wouldn't fit and it absolutely fit perfectly). Also - our pods locked both from the outside and from the inside, so that was a plus too.
Anyway, HIGHLY recommend, especially for introverts
Safiya is literally glowing and especially her hair is so gorgeous in all of the Tokyo footage
Her hair is so silky and skin is glowing 😍
Also did saf lose weight?
@alicia sciarrilloyuj8iiojjjijjjh is 8 and love you more 7ju
RcfsdrcsatUy58sU426
? 6!662uuiu7unyzvvcm♥️😀😁♥️
It's definitely the humidity lmao
Yesss am I the only one who thought she looked beautiful
I stayed in a hotel like in Moscow in 2019, and it was a great experience, amazing if you spend all day elsewhere and need just a place to stay nights in! I also really like enclosed spaces so that was real comfy for me 💖
Important question for those of us who love to sleep with air and fans blasting all night, what’s the temperature like in the pods? Is it cool enough? I’m just hot and sweaty all the time lol I have to sleep cold.
I went to seoul a few years ago and was in a shopping district and it started pouring out of nowhere too. I was about to go to a cat cafe but ended up having to just go back to my hotel
I laughed so hard when tyler was explaining that he wore old used slippers lmao
I wish they had capsule hotels in the US-I mean, a private place to sleep, a tv, wifi, showers, all for $35, that would enable me to take trips way more often!
The problem is America makes everything so fricking expensive 😞
@Esperanza Sanchez Orozco It's a tube...
Some of them are actually significantly cheaper than that.
That is what I was thinking! I want to create one
Yuka Yamamoto r
I can't explain why, but this is my comfort video. I'm super stressed about a tattoo appointment later today, so I came to this to calm my nerves. It's a bucket list thing to sleep in a pod hotel for me!
Does anyone else put their videos you've seen 100+ times on to sleep too cuz it's just soothing.
Watching in 2022 and it feels so weird to see you all without masks
The footbath makes sense tho, since if you have to share a small space, if you have sweaty feet, you won't bother everyone with the smell
I would love these pods! I would rather stay in a pod hotel rather than a traditional one
I’m insanely claustrophobic....I’d be hyperventilating trying to be in that thing 😩
I love how Tyler puts Safiya’s face on HIS thumbnail
That’s love
Saf looks so beautiful without makeup!
The foot bath is something I'm assuming one does upon entering the pod hotel. In China and Japan it is custom to remove your shoes (carrying all the disgusting places you've ever been in them, with you) before entering any place. The foot bath, it appears, accompanies this fine, very underrated custom
The capsule hotel’s pods really remind me of my college dorm. In that my college dorm room was fkn tiny, functional to the minimum and you were always at risk of being waken up by a neighbor aka stranger in the middle of the night returning from who knows where. It was a traumatic time.
Edit: The showers at this hotel actually look WAY nicer than my college dorm’s lol.
i’ve been sick all week i’ve watched this video every single day. it’s my comfort video. i think it’s because of the weather when they go to dinner + safs whispering. i will be asleep before they leave the hotel
I bought that peach water from my local Asian supermarket since returning from Taiwan (different country but very similar products) and I've been obsessed.
Video idea: Release the full, unedited footage of Safiya’s vlogging fever dream
@Raca Laca ???
Yes please
I’m dying at this footage 😂
@Raca Laca it was in the shower.. saf was n a k e d
@Slimey tf
Sharing a foot bath with strangers... I don’t know about that one! The men’s pods looked much better than the women’s & I definitely think the women’s pod should have gotten complimentary razors too!
i love how they're both always respectful of places
I always come back to this video for some reason... I find it very comforting, like I was there with you guys.
The part where Saf is just recording *e v e r y t h i n g* will forever be funny to me
I wish capsule hotels were more common around the world! I would definitely travel more, because honestly I don't feel safe enough staying in hostels :(
@Tea Janevska stfu
“Mind your own things” you say after incorrecting someone’s spelling
Bluewolf Ikr
Joana Sofia The pods in this one don’t lock though, that would make me much more uncomfortable
I’m honestly dumbfounded at the amount of people that apparently don’t know what a Hostel is. 🤦🏻♀️
i wish these were more common! i’d love to stay in one
Does anyone rewatch her travel videos because they find it comforting 🤔
I want to go to Tokyo for two weeks. Stay exclusively in a capsule hotel and eat only vending machine food.
It's on my bucket list.
I love watching Saf's Travel vlogs they are so cool!
I feel like I'd prefer to stay in Tyler's pod than Safiya's. It just seems less scary to me
It’s almost similar to when you make a couch fort. 😂
idk if anyone’s reading this but yes it’s me, 1 year later, and i changed my mind. Safiya’s seems so cozy and if i stayed in Tyler’s i’d probably just feel unsafe with my back to the door
@Cody Thompson same
same but maybe that’s cuz i’m claustrophobic
Lool only I don't have any problem with Safiya's pod and would stay there?
This video was so interesting. I had read about these hotels but wondered what they were like. I would definitely try one now!
I have no idea how I got here but watching this during the pandemic triggered so much anxiety for me... Just makes me wonder if the world will ever go back to normal? How would this work with all the restrictions in place today? I would love an update on the pods hotels today.
as a young female traveler, i wish these were more common! i feel SUPER unsafe in a lot of hostels and, in some areas, traditional hotels are SUPER expensive. a cheap yet semi-secluded option would be amazing!
I wish my college campus had these! Would save me a lot of time biking and riding public transportation so much daily, especially when I get off work late and have class early in the morning
The “used sandals” part. I laughed out loud. 😂
cristinakeiko 666th like lol
I love your Japan videos please keep doing them for those who can't travel there
I don’t know why, but when Safiya went through the little hallway to her pod and showed us, I was hit with an ARRAY of feelings, some being dread, nostalgia, a feeling of wishing I was at camp, nervousness, anxiety, etc
Thank you for the full tour it's really cool. I'm even considering going there 😄
These would be so great for staying at for an event. I do Comic Cons and I've spent way too much on hotel rooms that I've barley been in!
I just wanna experience life like Tyler and Safiya do
@thundercloud Im not annoyed by the insult, Im annoyed cuz there was no need for an insult of any kind... people should just be nice to one another not use every chance to offend someone for no reason
• Sxpphire • i agree but c’mon all of it is annoying
wIdIt ohhhhh look who is basic lmaoooo, “thank you, next” that’s old so stfu lol
I love how people get so mad about somebody criticizing whites, I wonder when they will finally understand what black people feel :/
@wIdIt your comment was really unnecessary, like why is her wish offending you in any way?
Hi guys thanks for the video : ) It looks like the cattery at the animal shelter and with common areas and separated male and female areas it reminded me of a women’s prison! As for the foot bath 🤢 I hope nobody has blisters on there heels that bleed or athletes feet considering how many people use it?
You guys are so entertaining! I just stumbled on this! Luv it!
OMG I want to go to Japan sooo bad!!! Also, you two are adorable!
I know this is weird but the peach water review was very calming to me. I want some.
We should have these in the United States. Affordable sleeping pods. Overnight or even for few hours rest. Really cool.
Japanese people are more respectful than americans
The third largest country in the world has a lot less economic incentive to make their hotels as compact as possible.
Nakita Lander that’s what I was thinking. 😂😂😂 They would definitely have to get bigger mattresses.
Juliana Bearington “we accept everyone” lmao what America are you living in? Lol
People will claim their fat-phobic because they can't fit comfortably.
I'm surprised. Most capsule hotels I have stayed in have a basket of random name brand soaps, shampoos, and conditioners to try. I always assumed it was the companies ways of advertising.
This is how you visit Japan (or another country). Being respectful. Love the video!
i think it’s hilarious that i’ve watched this video probably five times but i could NEVER stay in a capsule hotel cause it makes me feel claustrophobic just looking at
Re-watching this after soo long and why is no one talking about how good safiya's skin looks , like i need her skincare routine plzz !
Saf's sleepy vlog was cute 😂 she was just filming everything lmao

liked it. i've been curious about these. hotel rooms are really expensive in japan so a capsule hotel could be a decent option.
Rewatching this since I’ve been missing not seeing new videos (not complaining..just bummed whenever I check for new) and was dishearten to realize they shared this in April 2019 and filmed May 2018...fast forward to April and May of 2020 and ... nuff said
Love how they actually barely slept at the hotel cause they were so busy vlogging it lol
I think I'd like Tyler's pod better bc it's horizontal
I need that 20 minute video of Safiya in front of the vending machine. I don't know why....I just do
Totally agree. I’m actually interested in seeing the vending machine vlog and her taste description more than other things. Girl! Don’t listen to him and do your thing!
Japans vendine machines NEED a 20 minute video, LOL. I can assure you.
Good thing she just posted a whole video on vending machines...
Lol
That food looked awesome I want to eat some
What were the noise levels like in the pod? Could you hear others in their pods? Could you hear other's TV's? Also, what is the security like? Can children stay alone? What age limits are there?
Now I want to sleep in a pod. It looks so cozy.
This is super cool! God bless you all!💞
“ She dont wanna be the noisy pod x ya know THAT POD” love her 😂💜
