Fair play to Shearer for not immediately hitting the deck clutching his head as if he’d been hit by a cannonball fired from just a meter away. Rivaldo style
What a gentleman Bobby Robson!. Great game.
I'll tell you what a gent Bobby was. When he was still England manager he came to open a new sports complex in my town (indoors 5 a side pitch and some AstroTurf pitches). Our school's football team was chosen to be part of the crowd that met him as he cut the ribbon (think we won the local school's league or cup that year). My mate who was the team's captain had been off school sick for two weeks, but he wasn't going to miss getting to shake hands with Bobby Robson. So he dragged himself out of his sick bed and into school, so we could be taken in the minibus to the new complex. Everybody remarked just how sick my mate looked, he was as white as a sheet. So we're playing a bit of five-a-side as Bobby arrives. We all gather round as he cuts the ribbon to officially open the place. Then form a line so Bobby can say a few words, and then hand us our winners medals (that they'd saved presenting them to us especially for this occasion). My mate faints right in front of him, collapses in a heap on the ground. He'd had what they thought was a chest infection, but he ended up in hospital for a month with pneumonia. So he's put on a stretcher and carried off to the medical room. The mayor and the local dignitaries are about to take Bobby off to a reception at the town hall. But he refuses to go, says he wants to see the lad that's fainted. Goes into the medical room, hands my mate the 🏅 gives him his business card and tells him that when he's feeling better to give his secretary a call and he'll give him and his family some complimentary tickets to an England game. So a few months later my mate gets to go to Wembley to see England play. He didn't have to do that, but he was obviously a genuinely caring man.

@M T yeh pretty much although not sure there were as many spanish failures as there were french
@Mr. X just like players from Spain a decade ago
Allan Shearer man... He is just one of the best football natural talent that England has produced. He is calm, cool and great leadership.
@Mr. X gazza is wallsend boys club ..which is were Alan want...Different possitions (crap spelling ) Rooney tho has alot of Alans trates in him..Shearer was the best English stricker
Don't get me wrong he's one of the Prems best ever but not in terms of natural talent. Matt Le Tissier and Rooney would have more natural talent for example
And EPL will always be the best and the most entertaining football league in my opinion...
rooney and gascoigne are on a completely different level for natural talent
As you said better than Beckham or Owen in my opinion. Roy Keane behaved badly a bad example for young players.
Bobby Robson with Alan Shearer as the captain at Newcastle was brilliant. If only they won something in that time.
@paulie paul you to, thanks
@James Green nice speaking to you keep safe 👍🏻
@paulie paul it is I agree and thank you very much
@James Green i understand what you mean, but it's sad Newcastle never won 🏆 anything with what they had and it surprises me to this day ! anyway up the hammers 🔨 🤪
@paulie paul it’s not sad for him, I’d prefer to play for West Ham and win nothing than city or Liverpool and have a full trophy cabinet
Bobby Robson was a true fantastic gentleman.. absolute massive respect to him. May.he rest.in.peace god bless him .all my love and respect lan from liverpool.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 .xxxxxx

A much treasured victory. I'll never tire of watching this. Rest in Peace Sir Bobby.
late 90's/early 2000's were golden times for the PL.
@TheAsa1972 at that time man united were shit in the toilet. When man united dominated english football in the 90's, english premier league were 3rd or 4th class competition in europe. Way behind serie a, la liga and even bundesliga
@Butterpants1987 man united were nobodies in 1970s and 1980s.
Да, так и было. Сейчас смотрю футбол тех времен и вспоминаю как было интересно. Сейчас футбол отстой
When the EPL was played by MEN not these 1.65 - 5”6 diving cunts
@CleanFawn - Actually the will have the history in the future! Get your head round that!
Sir Alex vs Sir Bobby.
Two absolute Jedi level managers. What a man Bobby was RIP 🙏
Bobby was a gentleman, Ferguson was very much NOT that
@JUST ME check his budget at Aberdeen you halfwit - even beat Sir Bobbys Ipswich ; before Bayern and Real ......
@JUST ME you are acting like he was garbage
Fergie is overated wenger had a better record than him with a shitter team and budget check the facts and stats
Shearer is the greatest striker to ever have played in the PL.
SBR taking us to the CL with Griffin and Dabizas, and Elliott at the back. miracle worker
@D M P put the ball in the mackem’s net O’Briennn O’Brien
Don't forget O'Brien. Any any any O'Brien
Worryingly that's still one of our best back fours since the days of Barton, Albert, Peacock and Beresford. Luckily we had Shay behind them to make up for 50% of their mistakes.
@Ali Kaan thx m8
@XI-JINPONG Sir Bobby Robson the manager of Newcastle
As I grow older, I still think 90`s footie had a teamwork based pace to it. :)
Roy Keane, probably the most committed and hardworking player I've ever seen pull on that famous red shirt. He always gave me the impression that he could start an argument in an empty house though. Then that argument would invariably turn violent, spread throughout the whole building. His family would return home to find Roy stood there, stripped to the waste, with steam coming out of his ears. Stood on the pile of rubble where their home used to be, offering bricks out one by one.
😁
Shearer not even blinking at Keane will always be a highlight for me
@Harry Drake Neil Lennon headbutted Alan Shearer's foot...
@netweed09
Yeah, all mouth, no action. Same as he is today.
@Saigonese Tran 🗽 Shearer would too
@Saigonese Tran 🗽 Doesn't need to m8. That registered
Lucky it was Shearer, Gascoigne would put Keane on a wheelchair 🤣
Man i want to cry watching all these crosses and passing being on point...they look effortless.🥺🥺
Epic match. I think both teams were at their best.
this was 20 years ago??? DAMN! It feels like just 8-9 years ago I watched Veron, Giggs and Blanc play. And look how young and eager for trophies Sir Alex was back then.... Time just flies way too fast, man! Way too fast... and the great memories along with it...
everyone over 25 is stuck in 2010 because of social media and how it interferes with the brain and the mind's processing of time.
Bobby Robson will never be forgotten
Вот были времена, в каждом клубе были кони, трудяги и т.д. это сейчас только 3-5 футболистов в мире, тогда 3-5 практически в каждом клубе
Love how Keane makes sure he gets his teammates to hold him back from Shearer 😂
There are hard men and there are nutters. Roy was a hardman but then you have players like Neil Ruddock, Mark Dennis. Julien Dicks, Mick Harford etc...
@FTMJarra I think you mean Mary Whitehouse .
@robert smith not a chance, Billy Whitehurst might have though
@FxGoat he flipped because Shearer called him a "thick irish pr*ck".....that's gospel from the players lounge steward at SJP
@Jakeyjammin who did Shearer give a hiding to off the pitch?? little Keith Gillespie.?? Do yourself a favour man, Bellamy left because of his fallout with Souness, nothing to do with Shearer, and Shearer dropped his arse with Lua Lua as well when Lua Lua stood up to him on the team coach. Shearer kicked Neil Lennon in the head and threatened to drop his country in it by not playing in France 98 if the FA punished him for it. Hard man my arse
Newcastle really had a great team back then, always enjoyed watching them
They were great days .hopefully now got more of these to come 👍
I have so much love for Bobby as a Newcastle fan he was a true gentleman rip legend
For once Keane failed to intimidate a player with a fake swing 😂.
Shows how quick the game was back then end to end not like todays boring 50 passes by the defence before moving the ball forward.
Bro football changed we are not in that era again look are the 80s you will notice the game back then were different
Keano the Gyppo at the end of the game! Bennett the ref was usually in Ferguson's pocket, but fluffed his lines here! RIP Sir Bobby, a gentleman of the game!
Sir Bobby Robson , what a lovely lovely man , always had a smile on his face . He must been bursting with pride when he was given the Newcastle job . Just a pity he never won anything for them
Not a Newcastle fan but that wonderful man deserved one last major success, everyone loved and respected him.
Superb skill level in this game. The first time shooting especially was outstanding.
Alan Shearer the legend
Thank u for the memories! Being able to watch NUFC team once again after all these years brought back such nostalgia. :)
That look from Shearer is a good lot for Roy Kean. Absolute legend! He met his fit. I never saw both sat for punditry together.
Dont think so .They have never been seen on tv at the same time and if you notice never mention each other
@Mr. X Yudi
@Ed no they dont, remember keane saying something about refusing to do punditry with shearer
Apparently they get on fine now.
Remember watching this game live at the time. Was absolutely brilliant as a neutral
That Vodafone red jersey is so iconic... best jersey of all times!
I always love watching how big hard man Keane goes running at Shearer whilst Shearer just stands there then Keane allows himself to be held back by David Beckham haha
And the air punch. Shearer would have flattened him.
Keane was all show off, he got manhandled by Viera like a bitch.
That was Keane all over. He continued his Billy Big Bollocks act even as a manager
Shearer was shook, you can tell by the way he walks off
Street fighter Geordie from Newcastle , against him, shearer would have hit him into the middle of next week , he should thank his team mates protecting him.
Golden Time football..
What fantastic football, NU on way back to such impressive highs
Love The way shearer just looks at Keane . That’s a hard man.
@Tago Mago beat way to piss off someone, laugh them off
Shearer should have smiled and waved him off the field. That would have fired Keane up even more. Ten stone wringing wet joke of a hard man.
@amadhaun22 Santa Claus.
😒😂
@netweed09 What? Who?
@Long Lost Puss Because he's a bell end from birth, simple lol? Which sane person would even try to make reason of that disgraceful vermin?
He threw a punch out of sheer malice, salt and spite because his mother never saw who she gave birth to, that's why he is like how he was.
That free kick. Wow.
Awesome result for Newcastle, but I must say this: Giggs was one helluva player.
That was one HELL of a game!
Great win. Always adore it when we beat this lot.:)
Что-то мне такой футбол больше радует глаз чем современный
Сер бобби робсон и сер алекс фергюсон-что может быть лучше. 👏👏👏👏👏
Love how Shearer just stands there like go on then!!!
Legendary match 👌👍🏻👏
I’m sure that Keane must say thank you for his teammates to hold him back
I've just seen this 'Keane/Shearer incident again on 'Keane's Most Famous moments',[at 0.47/5.27] and Keane had thrown two punches at Alan Shearer,in front of the ref',and the yellow card was knocked from the ref's hand, the first punch thrown, and as the 2nd punch thrown, catching Shearer on the side of his face, the ref' pulled out the Red card to Dirty Dirty Keane, who then, surrounded by teammates, tried to act real hard, again, cos he had 'backing of teammates, but so had Shearer, who did'nt need any help taking Keane down,if needed to.He just stayed super cool and glared at The Sh##thouse, hahaha
Yeah, cos 'Dirty Dirty Sh##house Keane' was a coward, only played the 'Hard man to the crowd,if he had got anywhere near Shearer, Shearer would have snotted him,no problem, but a Great win for the Magpies, anyway,
Giggs! The pace, the positioning, the ball control and finishing that man had! First team player for 23/24 years, the most decorated player ever to play in the Premier league, best left pegged player the league's ever seen. Wouldn't leave him alone with my Mrs but his talent can't be disputed. World class!
@GTS Giggs isn't int the top 20 ffs.
Giggs and Henry - the two greatest players in PL history.
I am a 63 year old Australia, "Gunner"I hate them, but I follow them.........anyway when Giggs started that run against Arsenal in that FA Cup final, I just knew the motherfucker was going to score and it was all over. I don't know whether he scored with his left or right foot, didn't that seem important at the time
I started watching the premier after a decades break...and the little mofo is still playing and just as quick and slippery as ever! Hats off to Ryan Giggs, he is up there with the best them
Stuart Pearce, Graeme le saux, john Barnes, Lee sharpe, Julian dicks, Leighton baines, Nicky shorey, Ashley Cole, Wayne bridge, Koralov, Marc overmars. Just a couple.
@Stephen Buffery van persie and robben have got to be up there
Back when football was good.
Ryan Giggs man, what a player
harika bir özet.. çok güzel çekişmeli bir maç.
keane ve shearer neden kavga ettiği belli değil maalesef.
daha detaylı FULL HD and 4K özet bu maça gider.
This was another great game between the two teams. Even better because often one or the other ran away with it, but this was close.
As for Keane, I had no problem with the ref sending him off, you just can’t do that, even if Shearer said something that wasn’t picked up.
Hold me back lads Keane. Helped Forest get relegated then jumped ship.
Shearer always score...was amazing, could lose but the only goal was from him...i remember so well. At the end Shearer look at Keane and thinking " you´re so crazy man" hahaha
Bellamy, what a player, he's played everywhere 😁
Sir bobby ❤
Back when we had great players
Bartez was the joy of the free kick takers.
He was the joy of anyone who shot at his goal
he loves standing at weird positions when defending FKs doesn't he?
Great game. I remember watching this right after I got back home from the US. It was a few days after 9/11.
Looking at both team sheets and you're never see a class set of players like this at one time again
Bobby Robson is a wonderful man and coach ✊
Haaaa good old days... Hope we see again HWTL❤️
The red card was the icing on the cake
I was at this match, the atmosphere was absolutely electric
Giggs was insane in this game
I forgot how good a team Man U had at this time. Makes the game an even better contest. Classic match 👍👍👍
They had a fucking clown in goal, though.
Newcastle were so good here!
Keane the shithouse giving it the biggun expecting Shearer to shit it. Well played Shearer you legend!
Shearer wouldn't back down from roy keane he was a hard man himself.
Keane was alway the same tbh, he chose his victim carefully. You never saw him try it on with the proper hard men of the era.
Thx for sharing! Shearer is unstoppable in general!
Good old days. Craig Bellamy best signing ever.
Никаких var, симуляций , просмотров , просто шикарный английский футбол тех времён , сейчас уже не так …
Was Great Team with Sir Bobby Robson
Robson oozed class. The game is poorer without him
Well done Newcastle!!! Manure down the abyss...
B конце матча сэр Алекс спокойно пожал руку Робсону. А что у нас творится?!
Sir Bobby had a canny team 👏👏imagine what the future holds for the toon now did you see Keane hahaha hahaha 🤣
shearers position for the last goal shows why he was world class ... he knew instantly to hover outside the six-yard-box in case what happened happened, he never went running in like most would today as strikers lol.
laurent robert was really good
He scored some incredible long range goals
RIP Bobby, a class manager from a red Manc
Lindo esse uniforme do Manchester! Esse formato de numeração e letras dos nomes dos jogadores, era o mais bonito.
O Petrocinador foi na epoca Vodafone
Umbro and then Nike 2002/03 the best ever
This was also the year the greatest ever championship manager game was released
Glorious times...
Those were the days!
Great match 🥰
Супер матч! 👍👍👍👍👍
Ryan Giggs was an elite playmaker. United will never replace him.
thanks for share...wonderful highlights.
important a match.....wonderfull...vert goals.
and historic a nostalgy.....i expect very very full hd PL highlights.
Shearer SO wanted Roy to get free so he could administer a full proper Geordie drubbing!!!
The beautiful game
PL was more unpredictable in those days, definitely more enjoyable with players/managers who had more character...unlike today’s robots.
@John Buffalo I am 97 Sure but the club also cheated to get out of the Championship. Foreign owners financially doping doesn’t do much to warm the cockles of the heart.
@Andrew Kemp King Power Thailand Leicester City invested in the colleges libraries and city.
@Dante Matches & scorelines in the PL tended to be more unpredictable back in the 90s/00’s. Maybe it’s nostalgia but that’s how I recall it...the title was always Man Utd’s apart from the when Arsenal or Blackburn won it.
I think the matches themselves tended to be more exciting because there was less emphasis on tactics and more emphasis on fighting to win. There was also more emphasis on individuals doing great things and there were no super rich clubs buying all the best players. The football is probably a higher quality these days but it’s far less entertaining. There is also little emotional connection between fans and players and many of the clubs are shells of what they were, owned by nation states or nefarious billionaires with no connection to the local area. It is getting worse - Newcastle has just become one of them.
Predictable in what sense? The teams today can pretty much all upset each other on any given day, back then you could guarantee the winner of the league was one of 2 teams....
Keane = fire and ice. you just have to love the man. they don't make them like him these days
The best of times.
grande Clarence Acuña!
"And I will Love It if we beat them, Love It".
Veron was a joy to watch at times. Totally one footed but never seen a player so adept at using the outside of his right peg.
@SIMON5 EVANS5 I have seen Quaresma and his many trivela goals and assists. I just prefer Veron's style and technique. To be honest, Quaresma was never really at Veron's level if we're talking about footballing ability.
Then you've never seen Quaresma.
"With his head bowed, hopefully in shame" hahaha brilliant comment
When premierleague really was very good!!
@patrick bateman gaming It certainly looks like it.
@Jay Smith Now City got Tierney in their pockets
@James That's what happens when you've got referees (especially Howard Webb) and the FA in your pocket, and you've also got more money than everybody else.
@glyn hayes good to see man u struggle tho today. Back then man u got away with pretty much everything.
@Kevin Prior i didnt know Newcastle beat them
When sir Bobby Robson was being interviewed on the line up the commentator quoted that 3 3 4 would maybe best Bobby replied 'that he preferred 4 4 4 line up' what a
Imagine if Keane throws the ball the way he did to Shearer into Neymar's head! Neymar probably still be on that field dying from pain in agony.
Whilst holding his knee!😄
What a game of football, full of stars, drama and the sorest loser of them all gets sent off. Can't ask for more.
Love the way Shearer just stands his ground while Keane is heading his way, he doesn’t even flinch, that’s a hard man
@GARY MCTEER looked to me that was the other way round..
Keane was the one sent off
Keane, with brown adrenalin rolling down his legs, telling his mates to hold him back after realising he’d picked on the wrong bloke 😂
looked more arrogant to me. lets be honest shearer would crumble if keane got to him.
Get in thereNewcastle United, you absolute beauties!
