The end is here! On the final episode of the Brute Showdown we see the ladies take on the last three events, which include softball, soccer and an eating contest. We have seen a shake up in the standings as we progressed through the last few events, can the ladies close the gap and take the lead from our current leader, Brooke Ence?
    Event 6: Softball “Hit-off”
Each of the ladies will be pitched to by an LSU softball player. They are allowed 6 total strikes and will be awarded a point for every ball that is kept in fair play. Highest number of hits wins!
    Event 7: Soccer Shoot Out
The ladies will go through 2 iterations of 3 shots from various spots along pitch, with 15 seconds on the clock they will be awarded a point for every ball that makes it into the net.
    Event 8: Watermelon eating contest
The ladies will have 2 minutes to consume as much of a watermelon as they can. The athlete that consumes the most watermelon wins.

@LrTiger01 the professionals don't necessarily take steroids but when you're at the elite level 9 out of 10 are on the juice

I've been on your channel before... you bench 45 lb and I don't mean weight I mean the bar, for two sets then you put a 5-pound plate on and you call that pushing hard? I know everybody has different levels of progress but you've been doing the same thing forever

They should do another showdown with the same people. Maybe give them a month to prepare so they have better technique and big improvement for the areas they did not do so well. Perhaps add something from Strongman, cerebral, and crush watermelons with the legs instead of them. In addition, I wish they'd interviewed the ladies together.

Mattie and Maddy won my heart but damn Brooke Ence is one hell of an athlete. Lot's of CrossFit snark in the comments throughout this series but look at who is the well-rounded athlete.

they are ambitious and competitive, not catty.
And they are women, not girls.

  • Chris Silva

All ya'll criticizing the host for using the word "catty' gotta chill out. He's just having fun with his job and he gets backlash for using a term humorously. This is why the outrage culture of today sucks because people get criticized for having fun.

Really liked what Brooke said at the end about how different but similar things shouldn't exclude but should learn from and support each other. Applies to other areas of life too. Also always cool how people have different backgrounds/stories

That softball challenge was unfair for them...they have a proper pitcher throwing fast balls at women who’ve never played before...what the hell 🤯🤷🏼‍♂️

I just realized I didn't see any sweat on these ladies during these videos...NOW THAT'S TALENT. lol. They were great! I would watch them do whatever. They definitely gave me some motivation & drive.
I do agree with the other comments that "catty" was not needed in the commentary. That was not there for a single second.

Ok just heard the word catty that everyone in the comments was upset about. I don’t think Brooke was talking about females at all. I felt she was talking about athletes being very exclusive in their sports rather then welcoming to athletes of other kinds. Just my take

  • Nancy Hernandez
    Nancy Hernandez Hace un mes

I’m don’t think not being able to hit softball shows about their athleticism. I mean if It had at least been slow pitch style or if they’d had more practice. Just seems out of left field to me (lol).

  • P S

Why didn't they use a pitching machine instead. It would have had more consistent speed and position than a human pitcher.

Brook was always going to win, events suited her more, having a weight lifter and a powerlifter wasn't good for diversity maybe a Track & Field Athlete would have given her a bit of a challenge, good series though very inspiring to try new things in a more lighthearted manner while been competitive

While there are many laymen and expert/professional fitness industry persons that dislike Crossfit, in a couple other events I've seen like this that are multi (fitness) encompassing (Realworld Tactical ->ídeo.html, another one and now this), the Crossfitter performed best overall. That SHOWS something. Bottom line, it's ALL Inspiring!

Softball and Football aren't necessarily the best tests of fitness, more just seeing who randomly developed skills earlier in life. Some things like max pull ups, flexibility or balance (hand stands, pistol squats, splits, etc) and, grip strength would have been more interesting.
