Pia " I'm a slow player" Notices she has 5 seconds left. Proceeds to make brilliant moves as fast as magnus carlson. What a legend.
It’s Carlsen not Carlson.
Gm who dont know to play chess with time? What a legend ???
@Veljko Vidanovic she is in her 60's
@Veljko Vidanovic bro she is old now, obviously she will be slow, but remember that she is among the GMs, not really something that everyone can achieve and she is still beating chess masters like kids, literally so yeah, She is a Legend!!!
Levy against Anna: I'm gonna go grab a drink
Levy against Mom: *sweating nervously*
Fr
@Subject fr fr buzzin no cap sheeeeesh
Rizz
@Siegfried Sieger bussin mid low no cap low key high key idgaf lmao x3 rawr
Its a female GM i mean its rated diffrent for male and female but still knowing its a GM is making u nervous
I love how when a GM says blundered, it's when they mess up their structure a bit and maybe lose 0.1 of an advantage, but when I say I blundered, it's when I left my queen hanging with checkmate in 2 after sacrificing my rook thinking I made a brilliant move.
Lolol
Lmmfao
But what happens when stockfish blunders
😂😂
@1 Mol the world ends
Her mom is literally a legend in women chess history
That’s awesome
5th WGM... her dad's a GM too
WGM is a different title that is a lot easier to get. She is a GM
@Miles Reynoldsno, she’s a ‘regular’ GM. Even more impressive.
Great content. No pushy ads or self promo, no long intro. Just a clean and accurate title, and straight into the action. ty!
Pia always seems so gentle and kind... and yet at the same time absolutely terrifying.
The terrifying part I’m not really feeling
@Doug Cameron I mean if she was on the other side of the chess board, unless you are a fellow GM, there would be nothing you could do to stop what is coming.
@Doug Cameron The terrifying part is Pia doing almost any move and the eval going: "Yes... yes... .yes!"
@Doug Cameron yeah probably because you're not even close to being good enough to comprehend what is going on
Levy vs Anna; Jokes around
Levy vs GM; Straightening his back every 4 seconds
Yup it’s Respect
@Stark_Syndrome Unlike Anna? Now Anna knows how Andrea Botez feels.
@toriless And for real, Levy could beat BOTH of the sisters at boxing!
He looked stress throughout the whole game.
@David Knowles he has a tendency to choke or get really nervous playing GM's, not that I blame him. It's like playing basketball with peers compared to playing in the playoffs with Michael Jordan lol.
I absolutely love how much respect Levy has for Gia. He sees some of what moves she may make, but she definitely sees a few moves ahead of him and he's like "damn, you are a professional"
When he says something like, "I thought I had a plan.... but... I don't have any moves."
She answers quietly, "Oh yes, that's good you don't have moves," lmao
It's almost like she has a positional style that constricts her opponent or something. 🤔
I love how Pia is always in deep concentration even when she's very obviously winning
Man Pia is on another level. Seeing her just demolish the position under time scramble is unreal
I think it was classy from Levy not force a time scramble where pieces fly around the board. I mean maybe he took his time and didn't see a way to prolong the game, but it felt like he respected the lost position and didn't force it.
Pia is so awesome. She's giving advice to her opponent on the board. You're so lucky to have a mother with such a beautiful soul Anna
Love how your Mom doesn't shit talk. She is just quiet and intimidating.
Silent killer
@Pkey Sneaky assassin
@Some1PlayingGames stealthy slaughterer
i love how pia sacrificed the rook against levy himself 💀
Facing a GM has got to be super intimidating
she's more than just some GM. she used to be the top rated woman in the world on a few rating lists back in the day.
her mum has such a calming and soothing voice and yet she's so good it's scary. like a silent assassin
When Anna said… “mom just smiles when she looks at my games” lmfao😂 I’ve watched enough of her vids now to have seen the smile she is talking about. But there is also mom love in her eyes when she does it 😊
I like how Pia suddenly realized she need to rush and is down to like 20 seconds. And immediately plays a brilliant move. I wish I played brilliant moves when I was rushed. Sigh, I guess not everyone can be a grand master.
In first game at 8:20 when Pia realises she’s got only 10s and proceeds to make double exclamation mark move under time pressure
What a legend
Didn’t even see that on the first watch through. What a great player, amazing video as well
It's still impressive, but that had been her plan for a while in the position, it's not like she came up with that on that moment - she had been preparing that move for a while at that point
@Lucas Pereira Lima if she had been preparing the rook sack she wouldve played it after white played ne7 right? That was the most optimal time to play it
@Hanji She panicked a bit when she realized she had overlooked a check on her own king, so that may be it, but in general that seems to have been her plan for the whole time, otherwise putting the queen there to be attacked would've been rather dangerous
@Lucas Pereira Lima Yeah Im sure you right, players like her see a lot of moves in advance, especially since she is slow player; its still incredible tho, even Gothams reaction is priceless xD
I absolutely adore Pia. She is my favorite player period. So kind.
I love when your Mom and GothamChess play together - both great players and kind people. Make another video of them together!
This is the first video I’ve ever been able to hear two great players play both talking out loud the whole time. It all went over my head but was still so cool
I could listen to your mom play positions all day haha. It's like chess ASMR!
We all hope she pivots her career into narrating guess games
we need a "classical" (timeless) match between them while them explaining their every move!
They can't explain their every move to each other in the same room maybe after the match . A Recap but can't in real time then it's no challenge if there explaining what their doing
@Z O L T A N where does it say real time?
@Z O L T A N they can play online, and then explain to camera what they're doing
@Z O L T A N i understand where you're coming from, but you can see them literally discussing their moves in this video… don't you think it'd be amazing for the viewers to hear them in much greater detail?
Too short 5 min, see for 15min.
This was amazing. I could listen to your moms vocal annotations forever. Please do more of these.
You folks inspire me to want to learn how to play chess.
Pia: I'm a slow player.
also Pia: goes brilliant move rock sacrifice with 5 remaning seconds
your Mom is such a sweetheart!!!! Love hearing what she's thinking while she plays!
Would love to see more games with your Mom! She's wonderful :)
This as 10 minute game would be so much fun
I'd prefer a longer game too. That way they both have time to think.
Yes.
@B B I'd prefer a longer username like the person who commented this
nice username
Wow, what a display of brilliant moves out of apparently nowhere. Pia takes such care setting her pieces on the BEST squares.
So nice to have a collaborative and friendly game
Mom makes brilliant moves with time ticking down. Lmao. What a legend
I'm 71 years old and for years I haven't had anyone to play. I learned chess at a children's home and became the best player there. When I older throughout my twenties and early thirties I taught chess and played every chance I had. Where I worked as a machinist for several years I taught many peers how to play and at lunch and breaks we would have a continuing game. No one ever messed with an ongoing game and left it set up on the table. At one point after many months maybe a couple of years, I had not lost a game. The day came and it looked like I was to see my first loss. Management let them shut down their machines and come to the lunchroom to witness. I'd like to think most employees liked me, but most were wanting to see me lose. I was down and even I thought, well all things come to an end. Then he advanced a pawn, and I took it with the pawn en passant rule. I was accused of cheating till I showed them in the rule book, a book I gave everyone wanting to play. I didn't lose that day, but later it happened more than once, and I have a firm belief there many excellent players that have not been introduced. I have beat several masters and taken a couple of grandmasters to draws, and not humiliated, I miss having someone to play chess with.
If Pia had an asmr channel she would officially be the most relaxing human ever
Long awaited match! Gotta say though, the silence is filled with tension and you can tell Levy is focused all in!
levy choked hard the 1st game he calmed down on the 2nd one and played much better
Absolutely. You rarely see Levy this silent.
🎉🎉
He is finally playing another 2500+ GM
Detective Conan profile picture ! This is my favourite anime
i love this video so much. Sometimes it needs to be this serious. I love seeing Levy actually try without all the jokes. Both sides of the coin are a joy to see.
You can see how incredibly nervous levy is
i dont know much about chess but your moms ability to plan ahead was so cool to watch. what an amazing player
Levy is a very good person.. I hope I had a brother like him
I really enjoy watching the speed chess type games, the 5:00 time is a good happy medium imo, the decision making abilities are challeneged, fun to watch!
Two masters at work. It’s a privilege to be able to watch them.
Two masters and Levy
@R A 1 master, Levy and Anna
@sable yeah what sable said
two masters and a grand master
they were both terrible..... your comments was weird
It’s truly an honor to watch these two masters
im rewatching this and man i just love game 2s after the players know each other and make moves even more beautiful than they did before
Mom is adorable. What a strong player and a great source of wisdom. She laid the smackdown on you.
If someone asked me her elo, just by listening to her voice I'd say GM instantly, listening to her is like meditation...
I love how Pia with a very calming voice just completely dismantles Levy.
Watching Pia play and listening to her explain how she's crushing her opponent in her soft whispering voice is some soothing ASMR stuff right there
I can imagine how frustrating it must be playing against Pia cramling. You are being run over by the opponent and when you look up its just a sweet lady having a good time.
Pia Cramling is a legend. If it was a serious affair she wouldn't have lost on time this easily.
OH! That was excellent. Two very, very good players and the respect they have for Levy shines through. THANK YOU!
Inside levy mind: SHE SACRIFICES…. THE QUEEN
Levy: I saw this move coming
Pia's thought filled, soft spoken mumblings are a chess lover's ASMR gold mine! just delightful
Yes im here for the asmr and (i know its not possible) i pray for her to start a asmr channel or just a regular channel (because shes so calm and has a very smooth voice) shes amazing!
@arheme What is ASMR?
@vicpz1 body tingles when you hear soft voices
actually the creepiest fucking thing ive read all month.
her voice is angelic!
Anna giving Gotham the sass. They are like an old married couple. Love it.
Watching her mom play chess is somewhere between an ice bath and tightroping Taft Point. Relaxing and calmly waiting for the move that sends her opponent plummeting to their death.
Absolutely wild to see her just walk the King out there. Then Levy finally moves his King at 18:10 and she says, "Yea... you need to get him out."
I loved this. Mom is so sweet and this guy was lovely too. So nice to see.
Your mom is an incredible player and person thankyou what a fun match😊
I love how Pia plays slowly in the first game until < 10 seconds left and then goes into pure rapid destruction mode.
Just like Anna, she spends 4 of her 5 minutes talking then goes into Hikaru mode.
That was a really cool match)
We want to see a 10 min game between them :)
World need more people like these two
No better catchphrase in the game then " This is the plan" ❤
Beginners maybe funny but when your own mind decided that's all you'll ever be due to a wonderous cocktail of MH issues is torturous I've loved this game for 40 years. Thank you for your uploads
I love how they are supporting each other during the game haha Pia seems like the sweetest person on earth! You are so lucky Anna ❤
This is why Anna is so sweet. Like mother, like daughter.
her father is just as great shes double lucky
@peppi1974 honestly a person like pia deserves nothing less for a husband. It's nice to know someone like her is loved by someone like him
Levy has the chops to become GM. With all the knowledge he's accumulating playing against GMs and producing recaps it's only a matter of time before he gets his first norm. After that the rest should come relatively quickly. Rooting for you Levy.
Anna's mom is the most adorable human on the planet. Protect this woman at all costs.
I have to think playing after 50 years has to be an amazing advantage. You’ve seen sooo much. Now that I’m age 40, I’ve recently been amazed at how much I know about humans and their ‘strategies’.
Watching you mom play it’s art, beautiful !
Pia needs to start her own chanel, so nice to watch! All the love to you guys!❤🎉
At 12:25, when she said "I know what your plan is, but what is mine", 2 things happened
1. Its so cool to see how a grandmaster thinks
2. Levy was probably just like I don't even know what my plan is
The second one 😂😂
Stuff like this make me feel like people forget levy is also a master 😂
@ShockD 😂
She can't foresee your plan when you don't have one
Sounds like what a chess ai would say.
Levy is definitely an almost GM.
He can put a real battle to the guys one category above him. This was a great match. I really Hope we'll see Levy with the title some time...
the coolest thing about your mom is how she stays so sweet and kind 👍
Wow this was so amazing to watch.. so much above my level but really interesting, seeing stuff with no time which I wouldn't have seen with all the time in the world!
Really like the videos with daughter and mom! So nice to see. 😊
"Mom just smiles when she looks at my games", its like if you had an exam and the teacher look at your paper and started smiling
Would love to see these two play with more time on the clock!!!! Felt like each time it was getting good they had no time to think!
Agreed it’s frustrating because I was getting invested and then “bang 6 seconds and lost on time” :/ not a good ending. Like just play it out. I understand why time is in chess but man it loves to ruin things
@Corb I think 5 second vs 2 second bonus time would've made a huge difference. 2 second can work online, but over the board you just need more time to move your hands.
Exactly. Just when it's getting good, the time runs out.
👍👍👍👍
They definitely need more time and the games will be awesome!
Anna! MORE MOM! Her energy is intimidating. She is incredible to watch.
Nice clash! Would like to see them again in a classical in their full potential!
Uggghh she is good. I would love to see her get a 20 or 30 or 60 minute match vs some people. She seems to love setting up rock solid positions
It's amazing to watch a GM because they make moves that you keep looking at, and your mind goes like: "What the hell is that?"
Like when she went Nh6 (in the first game) or Rc2 (in the second one). Even Gotham, who's really good, was impressed.
omg on the first game I felt so bad at the end when the bar went so far in favor for Levi because she forgot to give the check and thought he would win and then she went crazy did all this brilliant chess to win the game.
Pia: sits at the board.
Levy: *why do i hear boss music?*
No one nose why
Eye know why
@Tyler Don’t keep it secret - mouth the reason why.
ear?
She places her knights in weakness to take bishops of the board early and he fell for it the second time. Bravo, GM mom!
Pia was such an inspriation in her heyday ... and until today she brings joy to my heart
Wholesome. Love the great mannerisms Levy shows while playing her.
Keep up the great content, Anna!
The game is so tense but the players so chill
At 9:45 when mom said "This is what Polgar played with me the first time", Levy's mood completely changed 😂
Susan Polgar - to avoid misunderstandings. I'm not sure if she ever played against Judit.
Why's that?
Probably about when he was born.
I thought it was judit thanks
@v4vun He was just having fun with the opening but Pia (since she already played this line) has a deep theory about it.
I'm a terrible chess player, but I was amazed to see how many moves your mom did that I would have done too. She even did them after thinking very long, when I would have played them impulsively. And probably for much more superficial reasons than your mom played them, but still, I feel pretty good after seeing this.
Iit looks like Levy moves quickly and confidently and Pia is scrambling, until you realize she's actually checkmating and flagging him at the same time.
I love how sweet Pia is while destroying you at chess
Let’s be honest, he let her win by being nice 😂
More of this series please!!!!
God dam this was very cool we definitely need another classical chess game
Respectfully and absolutely not in a creepy way, Pia's calm and quiet voice when she's thinking outloud has a really soothing effect on my brain.
I think you are experiencing ASMR. Not creepy at all.
Why did you have to go and say "not in a creepy way"? No-one would have thought that otherwise. 😅
@Dux Nihilo too many people would have sadly
this is fr unintentional ASMR haha
She was so focused on her game. So calm.
really enjoyable video to watch would love to see them play rapid
it’s so funny when they have so little time left but they continue chatting like normal
you guys are to good for 5 min chess longer times is needed here
Thanks for sharing Anna. Your Mom is my favorite.
I love how Anna is so nervous for her mom to win.
She always is, she is clearly the more bonded parent. They can even kid each other since they know their is no malice towards each other but only support.
@toriless big brain
